Not all the menus are enabled when I log into the Control Panel?
ScreenShield does not operate until you enter your Activation Key on the Registration page. Select the Register button on the Control Panel startup screen to bring up the registration page.

How do I obtain my Activation Key?
Click on the Get Activation Key sidebar menu. Enter your ScreenShield ID and click on the Get Activation Key button. You will receive an 8 digit numeric activation key (there are no letters in the key).

What is the ScreenShield ID?
The ScreenShield ID is an 8 digit numeric id which is your license. The ScreenShield ID is found on the Registration page. Select the Register button on the Control Panel startup screen to bring up the registration page.

What is a Profile?
A Profile is the name given to a set of ScreenShield Detection Engine parameters. The ScreenShield Control Panel allows an almost unlimited number of Profiles to be created. Profiles provide an easy way to manipulate different sets of Detection Engine settings.

What is a Threshold?
Thresholds allow ScreenShield to analyze a suspect image and decide, based on the threshold level you have set, if the image is considered adult content.

How do I uninstall ScreenShield Detection Engine?
In order to prevent accidental or malicious removal of the ScreenShield Detection Engine, there is no entry for ScreenShield Client in the 'Add/Remove Programs' list. Therefore the normal method of application uninstall, using the 'Add/Remove Programs' application will not work. Instead, the ScreenShield Control Panel provides a mechanism to allow ScreenShield Detection Engine to be uninstalled.

How do I start ScreenShield Detection Engine?
The ScreenShield Detection Engine starts automatically whenever the Windows desktop starts. After the initial installation, your PC must be rebooted for the Detection Engine to start.

What is Redirection Utility?
The ScreenShield Redirection utility is used to move or redirect a client from one server to another. This ability is very important in a segmented network where the clients must be explicitly told the server's IP as the client is unable to receive the broadcast messages from a server residing on a different network segment.
